ALFRED LESBROS ( 1873 - 1940 )


Alfred Lesbros is a Provençal master who belonged to the "Groupe des Treize".The Group organized a first exhibition on December 21, 1912 followed by a second exhibition in 1913, which was a great success.A.Lesbros will participate in the Salon de Lyon, at the Salon des Indépendants in Paris and the Salon d'Automne . These works are now exhibited in museums or public collections in Aix-en-Provence, Avignon or Tournon.

 In the 2o's, Lesbros began a collaboration with the fashionable cabinetmaker of the time, André Sornay, for whom he produced a series of pastels. .Techniques vary  between pointillism, realism, synthetism or abstraction.

A. Lesbros is buried in Montfavet Cemetery, France.
